Polarized sunglasses are made to serve the purpose of eliminating glare of light from surfaces like water. They were invented out of the light’s property to be reflected off of surfaces. When light is at that state, it produces glare (the horizontally polarized light hitting the horizontal surface) because it doesn’t pass through the water’s filter. So, polarized sunglasses have filters set at an angle necessary to absorb only the vertically oriented light and thus removing the glare we see. This is because the filter in sunglasses is a polarizer on its own and it acts against the light reflected from the water’s surface.

In such circumstance, one activity that greatly benefits from the wonder of polarized sunglasses is fishing. Obviously, it takes place anywhere that has water in it, which can cause light to reflect and affect vision. Leisure fishing usually happens during the day while commercial fishing can be done in daytime or nighttime. Either way, it helps to have an eye gear such as the polarized sunglasses during the said activities in order to protect of course our eyes and thus ourselves from harm. It’s most especially needed during high noon because the sun’s directly striking a very wide area of the water. It can hurt the eyes so much and can cause eye damage or accidents out of what’s also called “snowblind”, which happens when the eyes try to completely block out the intense light trying to enter.

The polarized sunglasses clearly present themselves to be functional to many people and their hobbies. Not only that, these shades also don’t leave out the sense of style. Although we say it’s a mere fishing activity and we can just be rugged, comfy, and be less beautiful about ourselves, but who says we can only be satisfied about that? Of course, we do have our choice and it simply takes polarized sunglasses to prove it.
